Asta Sungailienė, new CEO of Lietuvos paštas, assumes her duties

“We hope that the new CEO of Lietuvos paštas will implement the highest standards of transparency and corporate governance in the company. The most important tasks will be to evaluate and strengthen the competitiveness of the company’s strategic activities – information, deliveries and financial services – to improve their quality using the most advanced technologies and to provide our personnel with working conditions that are in line with today’s labour market.

The Board has no doubt that the appointed CEO of “Lietuvos paštas”, Asta Sungailienė, has the experience, competence and skills necessary to address the strategic goals of the company, therefore we are confident to succeed in achieving them,” said Nerijus Datkūnas, Chairman of the Board of Lietuvos paštas.

One of the first tasks of the new CEO of Lietuvos paštas is to newly select and improve the company’s top management. As from now, public selections have been announced for the vacant managerial positions at Lietuvos paštas.

A. Sungailienė was selected as the CEO of Lietuvos paštas through a public tender procedure. The public selection was organised and the candidates were nominated by the board of an external professional recruitment company. The candidacy of A. Sungailienė and her appointment as CEO of Lietuvos paštas was approved by the Supervision Service of the Bank of Lithuania.

Asta Sungailienė’s background:

Born in 1971.

Professional activity and experience: held managerial positions in the banking sector for more than 20 years. She has worked at AB Vilniaus Bankas and UAB VB Rizikos kapitalo valdymas (now SEB Venture Capital), and has held various managerial positions at SEB Bank (managing the SEB Bank Private Banking and Operations Departments in Vilnius, and also heading the Reconciliation Unit for General and Static Data in Riga). In 2014-2016, she worked for the Private Equity Investment and Corporate Strategic Management Board of the Ad Ventum company.

Education: Vytautas Magnus University, Bachelor of Business Administration and Management (1993) and a Master’s Degree in Finance and Banking (1997).
