Ecolines and Lithuania Post Expand the Range of Services in Lithuania

Oct 31, 2013

The regularly scheduled coach service company Ecolines and Lithuania Post expand services provided: starting with the 1st of April, customers will be able to obtain international coach tickets in 142 post offices located throughout Lithuania. This expand of services will enable the residents of small towns and rural areas to purchase tickets in a more convenient and quick manner saving on additional costs. Ecolines will be the only company in Lithuania selling coach tickets to international destinations not only in its travel agencies, but in the post offices of Lithuania Post as well.

While implementing the new service, the employees working in the post offices of Lithuania Post were trained to work with special programmes and given consultations on difficult issues. In total, more than 200 employees of Lithuania Post were trained by Ecolines.

„We are aiming that people living away from the main cities, but willing to travel could obtain tickets without additional costs. A wide network of post offices allows reaching the most remote locations. In cooperation with Lithuania Post, we can offer and ensure the same quality of service and reliability as one can get in other points of sale,“ said the Director of Ecolines for the Lithuania-Poland Region Remigijus Dvareckas.

According to Mr Dvareckas, the residents of the main cities usually purchase tickets in travel agencies or online, meanwhile the residents of small towns and rural areas, having no possibilities to purchase tickets or receive information in their town, will be able to save money and purchase a necessary ticket or receive information in the nearest post office. Selling of tickets in post offices will also ensure a wider choice of international coach routes than can be found in bus stations.

„Lithuania Post not only provides postal services to business and private customers and ensures accessibility to them, but also it expands the range of services. We are glad being able to extend the services provided together with reliable partners and satisfy the growing needs of our customers,“ said the Director of Sales Division of Lithuania Post Arūnas Venckavičius.

By now, the tickets of Ecolines have been sold only in travel agencies located in the main cities of Lithuania or bus stations. Presently the residents of small towns and rural areas planning their trips will not need to go to large cities in order to receive information on tickets and buy them; therefore, the prices of tickets will not increase.
