Lithuania Post made a profit for the second year in a row

Based on audited data, a state owned company Lithuania Post plc. earned LTL 484 thousand of net profit in 2012. Last year, the company’s sales revenues grew as well.

“We are pleasedto announce that Lithuania Post was profitable for the second consecutive year. While financial results were not as good as in the previous year, the significantly increased investment inspires optimism. In 2012, the company investments totalled nearly LTL 20m”, said Mrs Lina Minderienė, Chief Executive Officer of Lithuania Post.

Last year, the company’s income from sales made more than LTL 190m. It makes 4.2% more than in 2011. Rise in income from sales largely resulted from active sales operations and marketing measures.

Income from the universal service provision constitutes the largest part of sales income making in total 51.2%. In comparison with 2011, revenues from the universal service provision grew 8% and constituted almost LTL 97.8m.

In 2012, income from courier mail services has increased by 10.2% when compared with 2011.

EBITDA (Earnings before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization) for 2012 was 14.2% lower than in 2011 and amounted to LTL 8.1m.  

Lithuania Post runs the widest network of access points in Lithuania. It also provides logistics, financial intermediation, and electronic services.
