International direct mail items
International direct mail item (IDM item) means a communication consisting solely of advertising, marketing, or publicity material and comprising an identical message, except for the addressee's name, address, identifying number as well as other modifications which do not alter the nature of the message, which is sent to a significant number of addressees, to be conveyed and delivered at the address indicated by the sender on the item itself or on its wrapping. Bills, invoices, financial statements and other non-identical messages shall not be regarded as direct mail.
Important to know:
- IDM items are sent to the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
- The service is provided to business customers according to bilateral contracts.
- Not less than 100 IDM items provided by the same customer are sent to one country at a time.
- Maximum weight of an IDM item is 2kg.
- IDM items must be sent in envelopes or in closed plastic wrapping, either transparent or opaque. No tubes and cylinders are allowed in IDM.
- IDM item musts have a common printed postage impression (PPI). The examples of an IDM item and PPI layout are given here.
